Place: Agate Hall, Eugene, Oregon
Note: The photos and clips used to make the video were taken in different days from late August to early September, when the swifts (Chaetura vauxi) made the Agate Hall chimney their roost in Eugene. This splendid yearly event attracts not only human visitors that admire the wonder but such predators as kestrels. In order to catch their prey, kestrels wait on the top of the chimney for the swifts to swarm down into the chimney not long after sunset. This year, late August to early September happen to have half Moon right behind the chimney around sunset time, which was nice to add to the splendor of the event.
