An Unexpected Honour

An American friend, who teaches in Beijing as a professor, SHOCKED me by emailing me this screen shot on March 14th, 2013. The fifth photograph on that day's China Daily front page featured a desert forestation project in Dalad, Ordos, Inner Mongolia, the very project where I'm working as a volunteer. I don't quite know how my friend recognized me in that photo, but he was right! I was using a GPS device, trying to map the project area, when the photo was taken. I feel SPECIALLY honoured to represent the effort made in environmental protection in China!!!!!!

~ This was surely the most unexpected and remarkable event of 2013!

Cher Ami as the representative of China's environmental specialists on the front page of the China Daily on the very day new leaders were elected!

Such a positive omen for a year filled with ecology, environment and nature. CONGRATULATIONS, Fei, on a highly productive year, both in China and in the United States. It was a year divided between Inner Mongolia, Fujian and Oregon.

From the sandy Kubuqi Desert to the sustainable forested hills of Futang, to the sylvan charms of Eugene and environs.

2013 was the 'Year of QIU Wenhui'…! :)
